Dual Studio Ltd is a South London based practice which combines the 20 years’ experience and knowledge of its twin founders, Robert & Samuel Lloyd.

After working across various sectors, our focus has evolved to specialise in residential projects. The dynamic nature of residential design allows us to channel our passion for creating spaces that truly enhance the lives of individuals and families.

Founder - Architectural Services

Rob's passion for architecture began at a young age, inspired by his father, an architect who often renovated his own properties. This early exposure to construction projects sparked Rob's love for witnessing designs come to life and enhancing the experiences of those who inhabit these spaces long after their completion.
After earning his degree in Architectural Technology in 2013, Rob gained diverse experience across various aspects of the built environment. He has worked on high-end residential and commercial projects and even contributed to sustainable desalination plants. However, his true passion lies in residential projects, where he excels in guiding homeowners through the process of improving or building their dream homes.
He brings a meticulous attention to detail to every project while maintaining a clear focus on the bigger picture. Known for his proactive communication, Rob ensures clients are informed at every phase, identifying constraints, limitations, and potential issues early on to ensure smooth project execution.
Outside the studio, Rob loves nature and enjoys fishing, lifting weights, reading, and attending concerts.

Sam has always been passionate about understanding how things are made and creating them himself. From a young age, he enjoyed the hands-on aspects of building renovations, which ignited his desire to create tangible objects. This passion led him to pursue a degree in Product & Furniture Design at Kingston University, where he graduated with first-class honors in 2013. His graduation furniture range was manufactured by Heal’s and prominently featured in several design magazines.
Throughout his career as a designer, Sam has honed his ability to collaborate effectively with teams and subcontractors, recognizing that understanding the intricate details of each element is crucial for successful collaboration. The details are not just minor aspects; they are what make the design.
Over the past decade, Sam's design and fabrication skills have advanced significantly. Like Rob, he has gained extensive experience in high-end residential projects, industrial design, and fabrication. He actively participates in all stages of the design process, from inception to manufacture and installation. Sam excels at creating bespoke pieces for clients seeking unique items they can't find elsewhere, and he ensures that every design he creates is something he is confident he can bring to life himself.

Tip: Robert is the taller one and Samuel usually has longer hair and a bit more of a beard!

Dual Studio were involved in the redevelopment of my apartment from inception through to practical completion and handover. Everything was completed in a timely and professional manner, remaining accessible throughout all points in the redevelopment to lead and synthesize on-site technical information to a concise and understandable format.
